  • Some mushrooms and fungi are DEADLY poisonous. The effects do not show until it is too late to save yourself, and the effects are NOT pleasant. It is a horrible way to die.
  • Be sure of your identification of any wild edible fungi BEFORE you eat it! Some wild edible fungi have very poisonous look-alikes.
  • You may be allergic to some wild edible fungi. If you are at all unsure if you will be allergic to a particular fungi, eat just a little bit at first. Or better yet, leave it alone.
  • *YOU* are 100% responsible for properly identifying and properly preparing wild edible fungi that you eat! NOT me, and NOT this website.
    You should supplement the information on this website with real-life practice at identifying these fungi, preferably along with one of the excellent field guides that are available, and with the help of competent people who know plants. See the
